Banikhet : Seven kms short of Dalhousie is Banikhet - the gateway to Dalhousie. At Banikhet the road bifurcates for Chamba and Dalhousie. This small place has gained importance with the setting-up of residential colony of Chamera Hydro-electric Project. A Nag temple in Padhar Maidan now called mini stadium is a place of worship for the people of Banikhet and villages around. This temple is approximately 150 years old.

The hill station ofDharamshala came into existence in 1849, which was chosen as the site for accommodating civil population that raised in the town. It originally served as a subsidiary cantonment for the troops stationed at Kangra valley. In 1848 the hill station was annexed by the British who remained here till the independence of India in 1947. Due to its proximity to Delhi, Dharamshala became a popular destination, which provided respite to the British from the hot summer months in Delhi. Tatta Pani: The name Tatta Pani, translates to "Hot - Water" in local dialect. This is about half a square kilometer area on the banks of Satluj river with boiling hot Sulpher water springs. Bathing with this water is known to be good for skin. The place is also famous for the rituals of Tula Daan, which is known to be very effective if done at tattapani on a specific day. Many pandas (people who perform the tula daan) can be seen sitting on the banks of river Satluj.
